Ryan Quandt
Ryan Quandt, was placed in the House Committee on the Delivery of Government Efficiency. In this position, Ryan was able to work directly with committee members and the Chair to identify hearing topics, gather data, and work with agencies such as the Comptroller of Public Accounts to investigate waste, fraud, and abuse. Most notably, Ryan worked to identify malpractice claims from one of the largest Medicaid providers, Centene. Ryan’s work directly contributed to the uncovering of inappropriate investigating on behalf of Medicaid providers, which led to abuse of information leveraged during the budget appropriation process.
“The fellowship gave me a truly unique opportunity to work alongside a state legislative committee. I was able to sit at the table with the committee chair, public agency leaders, and key stakeholders, and contribute to the committee’s important work. It was humbling and exciting to have that level of involvement, and it gave me a front-row seat to how the legislative process really unfolds.” - Ryan Quandt, ITF Fellow

Zachary Castaneda
Zachary Castanada worked under the leadership of Chairman Todd Hunter, where he directly advised and explored over 300 bills and their implications on the technology industry’s ecosystem. Zachary worked hand-in-hand with Chief of Staff Angie Flores, where they considered and evaluated bills eligible to be placed on the House Calendar.
“Zach was a game changer to the office. He helped us train staff on how to properly use AI in order to be more productive and work smarter. But more importantly for our missions, their support allowed us to dive into how AI can benefit Texas’ tech, arts and economic sector.” - Angie Flores, Chief of Staff to Chairman Todd Hunter.
